On cable channel MBC Every1 ‘Magazine One’ aired on the 20th,JYJ’s Park Yoochun was named as an idol artist with excellent acting skills.
The show introduced Park Yoochun as a star with acknowledged acting skills and viewers rating success on debut piece ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal. The dialogue explained, “Yoochun played the drama character 200% with emotional acting that captured ladies’ hearts.”
“Thank you so much, ” said Park Yoochun on the set of ‘Miss Ripley.’ He added, “I still have a long way to go, but I hope you understand that I’m trying my best.”
Park Yoochun is scheduled to play ‘Song Yoo Hyun,’ an heir of a resort who can be the most serious and honest when necessary, and also can be decisive and strong-willed.
It seems that JYJ’s Yoochun has purchased quite the expensive piano bench.
On May 19th, a photo of the JYJ members playing around with each other was released on an internet community message board. In the photo, Yoochun is focusing on playing the piano while sitting on an interesting piano bench. This interesting piano bench happens to be fellow JYJ member Jaejoong!
Fans said, “The world’s most expensive piano bench” and “Seeing you play around, it’s like kid idols“.
Meanwhile, Yoochun arrived in Los Angeles on May 18th to join the rest of JYJ in preparing for the North American leg of their ‘2011 World Tour‘. They will kick off the tour in Vancouveron May 20th!
I wonder how much fans might pay for that specific piano bench cushion?
On May 17th, MBC’s new drama “Ripley” held its production conference at the Banyan Tree with lead roles Kim Seung Woo, Lee Da Hae, Park Yoochun, and Kang Hye Jung in attendance.
As it’s his second drama, Yoochun was asked to explain the difference between his role in “Ripley” and his role in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal.”
He answered, “Well, I’ve gone from wearing hanbok to suits now… I think the way the two characters express pain is different. Unlike ‘Lee Sun Joon’, my character in ‘Ripley’ starts everything with a laugh. He’s always smiling, but it only takes a moment for him to begin shedding tears.”
He continued, “There was definitely a lot of pressure, and even after I decided to take the role, I was still worried over whether I’d do well. One of my greatest concerns was how the viewers would perceive me, especially since they thought well of me with my previous work. Everyone treats me so well at the recording so I’m able to take part in it comfortably now.”
When asked about working with his seniors, he revealed, “I was so nervous, I made a lot of NGs. I’d blush and sweat. It’s my second drama so I’m definitely seeing a wider perspective in comparison to my debut.”
Kang Hye Jung who is playing the second female lead role, praised, “Yoochun-ssi is so great at acting and works extremely hard. I think he fits his character well of being a smooth man of the city. A person of his level could probably take on dramas catering to the teenage audience, but he doesn’t rely on his popularity at all and is determined to live life as a true actor.”
On his reasons for choosing “Ripley”, Yoochun commented, “I’ve really wanted to do a melodrama. I loved the character as well, and after seeing the line-up, I wanted to be able work with them.”

On May 16th, MBC revealed the official main poster for their upcoming drama, “Ripley“.
The mysterious poster is an expression of the hypocritical nature of the modern individual. The four leading roles are snapped amongst a masked crowd for a still-cut that looks as if time has stopped. Seeing as how they don’t fit in with their surroundings, their confidence shines brilliantly through the lens.
JYJ’s Yoochun has transformed into a warm, city man named ‘Yoo Ta Ka’ for the new MBC drama, “Ripley“.
A photoshoot for the “Ripley” poster was held last month on April 29th at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan. For the photoshoot, Yoochun wore a white suit with a black collar – displaying the urban flair and charms of his character, ‘Yoo Ta Ka’.
Yoochun introduced his new character, “If my character ‘Lee Sun Joon’ from ‘Sunkyunkwan Scandal‘ lacked the ability to express his feelings and was considered an ‘objective answer’ kind of guy, then ‘Yoo Ta Ka’ from ‘Ripley’ is rich in emotion and expresses them freely like a ’subjective answer’.”
He added, “Through the previous project, I learned that it is very difficult to be completely immersed into one character. However, I really enjoyed the times I spent worrying about the character. I am very excited even thinking about having the opportunity to show a different side.”
It was reported that although Yoochun was at the hospital because of acute enteritis, he still attended the photoshoot and worked hard until the very end – receiving a round of applause from the staff.
Meanwhile, “Ripley” is scheduled to air its first episode on May 30th.
Following the unfortunate reports of his rejection from MBC’s “Come to Play” yesterday, it seems backdoor pressure is working full force against JYJ’s Yoochun once again, as he was recently reported to be rejected from KBS’s “Win Win” as well.
Yoochun was originally scheduled to attend the recording for “Win Win” on May 3rd, but received notification of it being canceled just a day in advance. It’s said to be an exceptional case for schedules being canceled so abruptly like that, especially since he was already confirmed for the recording’s line-up.
With recent reports of the cast of MBC’s “Ripley” being rejected from the variety program, “Come to Play“, netizens have been turning their attention to the reason why.
According to information revealed by a large majority of drama representatives, the “Ripley” cast - Kim Seung Woo, Kang Hye Jung, Lee Da Hae, Park Yoochun – were in discussion for a guest appearance on “Come to Play” later this month.
