Lee Da Hae was inspired by roses for her “Ripley” photoshoot

On May 11th, MBC released posters of actress Lee Da Hae for their upcoming drama, “Ripley“.

The photoshoot was held at the MBC Dream Center, and it aimed to bring out her character’s two-fold charms. Emphasizing her femininity with a fierce red dress, the star exuded a femme fatale charm. When one looks closer, however, there’s a sense of innocence in her facial expression that lures the viewer in.

Staff members commented, “Every picture looked perfectly suitable for a high class photoshoot. Even when she was turning her back to the camera, you could just sense what her facial expression was like.”

Lee Da Hae stated, “In this world, there are dull but endearing flowers like the dandelion, and there are also flowers like roses, which captivate you the moment you lay eyes on them. My character, ‘Miri’, is like a rose – she lures people in with her charms, as they remain oblivious of her thorns. I’ll be working my best to accurately portray ‘Miri’, a woman who lives life her own way.”

The main plot for “Ripley” centers around the hypocrisy and desires of people.

It revolves around a woman’s unintentional lie, which ultimately disturbs the lives of those around her by exposing their truths and secrets.

The pilot episode will air on May 30th.

Aga Muhlach says In the Name of Love will be his "last movie" for Star Cinema

Dinagsa at matiyagang nag-antay ang fans nina Aga Muhlach, Angel Locsin, at Jake Cuenca sa premiere ng kanilang pelikulang In the Name of Love sa SM Megamall kagabi, May 10.

Ang one-year-in-the-making film na ito para sa 18th anniversary ng Star Cinema ay mula sa direksiyon ni Olivia Lamasan.

DARING AGA. Sa premiere ng pelikula, hindi mapigilan ng mga manonood ang pumalakpak at mapasigaw sa ilang mga eksena rito.

May mga ginawa kasing eksena ang mga artista sa pelikula na hindi akalain ng mga manonood na magagawa nila.

Isa sa mga ikinagulat ng marami ay ang love scene ni Aga sa leading lady niya na si Angel. Kilala raw kasi ang aktor sa wholesome roles nito sa mga dati niyang pelikula.

Sa panayam ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), sinabi ni Aga na hindi naman sobrang daring ang kanyang ginawa.

"I would do anything naman for the movies na ginagawa ko basta kasama talaga yun, kailangan yun, e," aniya.

Para kay Aga, ang pagganap sa role na ito ay isang paraan para mas makilala ang iba pa niyang kasama sa pelikula.

"Sinabihan ko sila na I want them to shine," sabi niya.

"You know, I'm not selfish with my co-actors. It's their time to shine, [and] then they should shine. "

Kahit ito ang unang pagtatambal nina Aga at Angel, naging maganda ang reaksiyon ng mga nakapanood na ng pelikula. Marami ang hindi napigilang humiyaw at kiligin sa ilang mga eksena nila.

Hindi naman daw in-expect ni Aga ang ganung pagtanggap ng mga tao, lalo pa't malaki ang agwat ng edad nila ni Angel. Si Aga ay 41 years old, samantalang si Angel ay 26.

Pero hindi naman daw iyon ang mahalaga sa kanya.

"Gusto ko lang mangyari, makagawa ng magandang pelikula na kapag pinanood nila, magugustuhan talaga nila, hindi yung kukuwestyunin nila," sabi ni Aga.

At dahil nga sa daring scenes niya at magandang chemistry nila ni Angel, hindi naman kaya nagseselos ang misis ni Aga na si Charlene Gonzalez- Muhlach?

"Well, si Charlene, she's a good gauge, you know," sambit ng matinee idol.

"Pag umiyak 'yan, pag affected 'yan sa istorya, maganda yung pelikula."

Masaya ring ikinuwento ni Aga sa PEP kung ano ang naging reaksiyon ng kanyang asawa matapos mapanood ang kanyang pinaghirapang pelikula.

"Nung post-production pa lang, pinanood niya yung pelikula, umiyak na siya. And dito sa premiere, umiiyak pa din siya."

LAST MOVIE WITH STAR CINEMA. Habang nasa kalagitnaan ng masayang interview ay nagulat na lang kami nang banggitin ni Aga na, "Paalis na ako ng ABS, ito ang huling pelikula, trabaho ko sa kanila."

Matatandaang noong isang taon ay naglabasan ang iba't ibang blind items kung saan sinasabi na si Aga ay lilipat na raw sa TV5. At nakumprima nga ito nang pumirma na ng kontrata sa Kapatid network ang aktor noong March. (CLICK HERE for related article).

Pero iginiit ni Aga na hindi niya tuluyang iniwan ang ABS-CBN, lalo na ang Star Cinema.

"Gagawa pa din ako [sa ABS-CBN], sana.

"Pero in the meantime, you know, napakagandang regalo nito [In the Name of Love] para sa akin. Kaya we make sure na maganda talaga ito."

Pero bagamat ito ang itinuturing niyang huling trabaho sa ABS-CBN ngayon, sinabi niyang maayos ang relasyon niya sa network.

"Mahal ko naman kayong lahat. Mahal na mahal ko ang ABS [CBN], lahat 'yan mahal ko," aniya.

MOVIE WITH LEA. Dahil napag-usapan na lang din ang paggawa ng pelikula, hindi naiwasan tanungin ang tungkol sa naudlot na pelikula ni Aga kasama si Lea Salonga.

Dati kasi ay may nakaplanong pelikula ang dalawa ngunit hindi ito natuloy dahil naging abala si Aga sa paggawa ng kanilang pelikula ni Angel, na may working title noong Huling Sayaw.

At sa premiere night ng In the Name of Love, inimbitang manood ni Aga si Lea.

"Hindi ako nag-i-invite sa mga premieres ko. This time, nag-invite talaga ako ng friends," sabi ng aktor.

Nagkasama noon sina Aga at Lea sa mga pelikulang Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal (1992) at Sana Maulit Muli (1995).

Naisipan daw niyang imbitahin ang dating leading lady upang makita nito kung gaano kaganda ang kinalabasan ng pelikulang ito

Wala ba silang balak ituloy ang naudlot na pelikula?

"Kami ni Lea, I'm just waiting for that. Kaya nga sinama ko si Lea dito," biro ng aktor.

Pero tiniyak niya na, "Gagawa kami ng movie talaga."

At nang tanungin kung kailan at anong pelikula ang gagawin nila, ito ang sagot ni Aga:

"Sana maulit muli—ang pelikula namin."

KHJ: “I’ve only done two projects in my acting career so far. I’ll be making a singing comeback in June. I’ll be sure to show the singing side to my career so you don’t have to ask next time, ‘Why do you only sing? Do you not act?’ I’ll go back and do my best.”

Q. Yoon Tae Joon (8) “Hyung, it’s so hard for me to memorize the times table. What do you think is the best way to memorize it?”
KHJ: “When I was younger, my mom put on a song that went like this. ‘Two and one is two, two and two is four…’ Download the song and listen to it in your mp3 player, I’m sure it will help.”

Q. Yoon Jae Yeon (11) “I want to dye my hair but my mom won’t let me. Oppa, when did you first dye your hair?”

KHJ: “I did try dying my hair when I was younger… And although 26 years old is still young, I’m a bit embarrassed dying my hair at this age. It’s unfortunate if your mother is against it, but I think dying your hair when you’re young is an experience worth having.”

Q. “I like Park Ji Sung. Which soccer player do you like the best?”
KHJ: “You must dream of becoming a soccer player. I’m a Korean man, so I also like Park Ji Sung. Let’s like soccer together forever, okay?”

Jake Cuenca feels "vindicated" after watching his performance in In The Name of Love

Halatang kagagaling lang sa pag-iyak ni Jake Cuenca nang makausap siya ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at iba pang entertainment press sa premiere ng pelikulang In the Name of Love kagabi, May 10, sa SM Megamall.

Hindi napigilan ng young actor na maapektuhan din sa movie na ginawa, lalo pa nga't first time lang daw niya itong napanood.

"They asked me to watch it, I chose not to. I wanted to watch it tonight, sa premiere," sabi niya.

Ano ang naramdaman niya after watching the film?

"Sinabi ko nga sa kotse papunta rito, kasama ko sina Angel [Locsin] atsaka si Aga [Muhlach], sabi ko, alam mo yung vindication kasi hindi mo pa rin mabitawan hangga't sa mapanood mo na. 

"And I chose talaga to watch tonight. Not when I'm dubbing it. 

"I feel vindicated. I feel, yung alam mo yun, na meron akong nai-release na napaka...

"It's been a year. We worked so hard and I'm just so happy with what happened tonight."

More than his expectation ba ang napanood niya?

"Actually, hindi ko alam ang ie-expect, e," sabi ni Jake.

"Kasi sila Inang [Olivia Lamasan], kino-congratulate na ako bago pa ang premiere night.

"Yung mga taga-Star...  Sinasabi nila, 'Ang galing mo rito Jake.  Ang galing mo!'

"But I really don't know.  Hindi muna ako naniwala hangga't hindi ko napapanood."

Puwede sigurong ituring ni Jake na ang portrayal niya sa In the Name of Love ang pinaka-best niya so far, bukod pa sa ibang-ibang Jake ang mapapanood sa kanya ng mga tao rito.

"Thank you...iniba talaga nila ako. The challenge in this movie was not to be Jake Cuenca. 

"And tulad ng sinabi ko, kaya naging sobrang challenging din ang pelikulang ito, I had to be not Jake in one year.

"Di ba, naihiwalay rin ang pelikulang ito because alam ko kung gaano kaimportante ang pelikulang ito sa mga TV projects ko.

"Talagang ang priority ko for one year and a half was this movie alone," saad niya.

After doing the film, mas na-challenge ba siya sa future movies na gagawin niya?

"Talagang ngayon, nag-enjoy ako doing movies," sabi niya.

Willie Revillame returns to television on May 14 with a new show called "Wil Time Bigtime"

After more than a month of taking a breather from his hosting duties on TV5's primetime block, controversial TV host Willie Revillame will host Wil Time Bigtime, a reformatted show in place of Willing Willie.

"I Wil be back! Bigtime sa saya at bigtime sa papremyo ang handog natin sa ating mga Kapatid na hindi bumibitaw at walang patid ang pagsuporta sa ating programa. Ang pagbabalik natin ay para sa bawat Pilipino dahil sila naman talaga ang bigtime dito. Sa Mayo 14, magpapatuloy ang oras ng saya at pag-asa," Willie expressed in a statement sent by TV5 to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) this afternoon, May 11.

Wil Time Bigtime will air at 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and at 6:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

It will feature new games and a newly-designed set "that will utilize an LED (light-emitting diodes) floor and new software technology for a whole new TV experience."

The show's business unit head, Jay Montelibano, calls it a "visual feast" for viewers of all ages.

Valenzuela City councilor Shalani Soledad will return as Willie's co-host.

TV5's statement also calls Willie's return to TV as "an overwhelming call for a new and family-oriented primetime viewing with less bad news and crime reports."

Wil Time Bigtime replaces Willing Willie, Willie's previous variety and game show on TV5 that ended after a major controversy last month.

Willing Willie's last episode aired on April 9, a Saturday.

Willie, who is also one of the show's producers, decided to take the show off-air after critics—composed of government figures, celebrities, and ordinary Filipinos—hurled serious accusations of child abuse at him.

The criticism was directed at Willing Willie's March 12 episode, which featured a six-year old boy who gyrated to explicit hiphop music during the show's talent portion.

Willie, who was amused, encouraged the boy to repeat his performance, and called him a "macho dancer." 

In answer of the criticism, Willie and TV5 denied that there was child exploitation in the episode.

Similarly, the boy's parents told the media that they found nothing wrong with their child's talent.

But despite the denial, many of the show's major advertisers pulled out their advertisements.

On April 8, Friday, Willie delivered a vitriol-laden tirade against his critics. Willie also expressed his decision to take the show off the air, adding that he will spend time off to think if he should still return to showbiz. On May 3, more than three weeks after Willing Willie went off-air, the MTRCB released a one-month suspension order against the show. 

The regulating body's investigation led it to conclude that the show was in violation of a law against "immoral and indecent broadcasts" that does not resemble Filipino values.

MTRCB's decision counted Willing Willie's self-suspension in the one-month period. Therefore, it allowed Willing Willie to go back on-air on May 9.

MTRCB also stated that should Willing Willie go back on-air, TV5 is required to apply for its airing permit on a per episode basis.

It is unclear whether Wil Time Bigtime will be subjected to this MTRCB requirement, since it is a new show

B2ST reveals their album tracklist for “Fiction and Fact”

Cube Entertainment shared some exclusive info with allkpop about idol group B2ST’s first full-length album, “Fiction and Fact“!

It’s an album that fans have long been waiting for, and judging by the track list descriptions, it’s shaping up to be a formidable piece of work.

The album’s intro track, “The Fact“, is meant to fit in with their title track, “Fiction“. The intro song alone is meant to give fans a taste of B2ST’s deep sensitivity. The break-up that they didn’t want to acknowledge in “The Fact” is seamlessly continued in “Fiction”. “Fiction” is a track that breaks away from B2ST’s usual strong sound, and its charms lie in its piano melody and lyrics. The song tells of a love that they want to cling to, even if by writing a novel. The depth of this song’s emotions are further explored in the orchestrated version of “Fiction”, which is also included in the album.

Meanwhile, the song “Back to You” is expected to be a huge hit amongst fans, thanks to its addictive musical structure. “Though I Call” is a pop ballad that’s further enhanced by the members’ voices.

Drawing back to an emotive performance, fans are sure to swoon over “On Rainy Days“, which was recorded on an actual rainy day in order to further accentuate that delicate sorrow. “You” steps away from the sad atmosphere by delivering a song overflowing with the joys of love. To bump it up a notch, “Virus” mixes electronic dubstep and R&B qualities, giving listeners a unique variety of music styles.

Fans will be interested to know that “Freeze” was a song written, composed, and arranged by member Junhyung. Junhyung wrote this with B2ST’s fanbase in mind, and decided to present it to them as a musical gift. Speaking of musical gifts, an unplugged version of their previously released “Lightless” has also been included in this album.

Cube tells allkpop that pre-orders for B2ST’s album became available on all online music sites starting May 11th, and that the album will drop in full on May 17th.

Each of B2ST’s Korean album releases have claimed #1 spots on many music sales charts in the past, which allowed B2ST to be considered as a strong force in the industry. Therefore, their full-length album is receiving high expectations for its album sales figure.
